Mount Abu, is a popular hill station in Rajasthan, a state in the western India. Travelers are attracted to the cool weather and the view of the beautiful plains this little hill station offers. Also surrounded by forests, the green adds more beauty.
It holds the credit of being the only hill-station in western India. Families from Gujarat throng in huge numbers to escape from the scorching heat during summers. The place is famous among the couples as a honeymoon spot, but you will also find the families coming in good numbers. The Diwali season is a huge rush here, good to have advance bookings done. Similarly during summers, just before the rains, also it is a full season.
Among the must to visit places, the Dilwara Jain Temples, completely carved out of marbles remains the top tourist attraction. Nakki Lake, Gurushikhar Peak, Adhar Devi Temple, Achal garh, Sunset Point are the main places of interest here.

If you have not reached here by your own vehicle, the best way is to get your tickets with any of the Local Bus Operators that offer sight seeing covering all the major 10-11 places of interests. Costs around 100-120/- rs per person. The tour starts from 9 am in the morning and ends at around 5:30-6:00 pm when they drop the tourists at the Sunset point near Nakki lake. Couples can also hire bikes/two wheeler as per their interest.

- Nakki Lake
Nakki Lake, a beautiful small lake in the centre of the hill-station is well known for boating and recreational activities. An early morning walk is a simply serene and soothing.
This is the highest peak of Rajasthan at a height of 5676 feet. Located at a distance of 15 kms from Abu, the peak is home of the Lord Dattaraya.
3. Dilwara Temples
The famous Jain temples carved out of marbles is very popular for its architecture and design. It is 2.5 kms away from Mount Abu. The temple is mostly crowded and cameras/mobiles phones are not permitted inside the temple.
4. Shankar Math
This place is build of red stones and has a Shiva linga. The upper part of the temple is also made like that of a Shiva Linga.
5. Adhar Devi Temple
This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga and can be reached by climbing some 350 stairs. The temple is in a small cave and is one of the most popular religious places of interests of people visiting Mount Abu.
6. Brahmakumari Universal Peace Hall
The headquarters of the Brahmakumari World Spiritual University are located here.
